The International Thespian Society is an honor society for high school and middle school theatre students. It is a division of the Educational Theatre Association. Thespian troupes serve students in grades 9–12.

2026 Convention Information

 November 18 - 21, 2026

It is time for Texas Thespian Festival!!!!!! (Also referred to as ITS, TTF, Thespians, or “Convention”).  This trip is optional, it is a privilege, but it is a very enriching, educating, and worthwhile experience for your students. I have had your students complete their interest and info forms but for parents and guardians- here is everything laid out in writing: 

 

DATES: November 18th-21st 2026 @ ​The Gaylord Texan located in Grapevine, Texas.  This is an overnight trip. Students will miss the last 3 days of school (Wednesday-Friday) before the Thanksgiving break, and goes into SATURDAY that begins Thanksgiving Break. Please do not plan to leave town before Saturday evening if your student is competing. We have had students qualify to perform in the closing ceremonies on Saturday of Festival. 

 

COST: $500 per student 

$100 Deposit AND the THREE (3) FORMS are due Sunday September 13th to secure your spot!! ****If you cannot pay by that time, please talk to one your directors for scholarship opportunities.****

 

Deposit can be paid:

• in the online store
• cash or check returned to Mr. Lindsey
  • checks should be made out to "LHHSTBC" 
  • Please bring cash or checks to Mr. Lindsey in an envelope with "STUDENT NAME - FESTIVAL DEPOSIT"

 

ALL STUDENTS & PARENTS MUST attend the MANDATORY in person meeting on November 4th in the L Aud.  A zoom link will be sent out for Parents who cannot attend in person.

Deposit:

The NONREFUNDABLE $100 Thespian Festival Deposit payment is due Sunday, September 13th. (This is for reserving hotel rooms. Once we sign up, Hotel rooms are non-refundable.) 

 

 

Please note additional costs per competition/events on the second page. Any students participating in more than 1 event may be asked to pay an additional fee.

  

Payment Schedule

• You can pay the $500 in full 

                -or-

• $100 Deposit now/asap to secure your spot.
• $200 October 2nd
• $200 November 2nd

Any fund-raised money will go towards remaining balance, or towards partial refunds if paid.

 

NOTE - For any payment timing concerns PLEASE reach out to the directors as we want to ensure all starts who want to participate can make it happen!

 

Scholarship Opportunities

If you would like to submit, you must have all your submission materials to me before October 2nd, so that I can submit them before midnight. DIRECTORS MUST HAVE MATERIALS BEFORE OCT 2nd.

Refundable VS NON Refundable

- Through October 15th: 100% refund from Texas Thespians on all fees (Other than Hotels. $100 Deposit is non-refundable for our department.)

- Through October 29th: 50% refund from Texas Thespians on registration fees & 100% on hotels

 

NO refunds offered by Texas Thespians after these dates
